Kyoto taxis start at ¥500 for the first 900 m, then ¥100 per 255 m. Fares rise between 22:00 and 05:00 (20% surcharge) and during heavy traffic. All taxis accept cash; most accept credit cards and IC cards.

京阪 祇園四条駅から徒歩
Take Exit 1. The house is about 160 m away — two to three minutes with luggage. This is the fastest and cheapest option if you are coming from Osaka.
1番出口をご利用ください。距離は約160m、荷物があっても徒歩2〜3分です。大阪方面からお越しの場合は、これが最速かつ最安です。

- A dark navy two-storey building — the only navy one on the street. Its neighbours are beige and brown.
- 濃紺（鉄紺）の2階建て。この通りで紺色の建物はここだけです。両隣はベージュと茶系です。
- A reed screen (sudare) hanging over the second-floor window.
- 2階の窓に簾（すだれ）が掛かっています。
- Two silver shutters at street level.
- 1階に銀色のシャッターが2枚並んでいます。
- A white noren curtain to the LEFT of the shutters — that is your entrance. The door is set back one step from the street.
- シャッターの左側に白い暖簾。ここが玄関です。扉は道路から一段奥まっています。
The shutters are not the entrance. Walk past them to the noren.

深夜にご到着の場合
The street is quiet and dimly lit after dark, but there is a streetlamp beside the house. The navy walls read almost black at night — look for the pale noren, which catches the light. Please keep voices low and roll suitcases gently; this is a residential lane.
夜間の通りは静かで照明は控えめですが、建物の脇に街灯があります。紺の外壁は夜にはほぼ黒に見えますので、光を受けて白く浮かぶ暖簾を目印にしてください。住宅地ですので、お声とキャリーバッグの音にはご配慮をお願いします。
